Anyone know of any good hotels/motels in the Keys with good water access for exploring for critters and just getting wet. I've been to Banana Bay in Marathon which had pretty good access for fishing. King Sail down the road had cramped water space and water was silted up from all the boat traffic. Bayside in Key Largo was great for snorkeling and exploring but we would like to stay in a different spot this time. Thanks for your help;)

Not very familiar with any hotels or places to stay there but I went last year and had a blast. Hoping to go again soon! Make sure to go to Harrietts Restaurant and get the key lime muffins (the other favors are great too) one of the best things I have ever eaten. We got breakfast there our first day and went back everyday for the week and got muffins to take to the beach/exploring with us. Have fun man!!

Thanks Kevin! I'll have to check it out! We love anything key lime. I just can't wait to get to Kermit's in Key West for my Key Lime pie!!!

Every place you mentioned above is on the bayside of the keys. Oceanside resorts usually have clearer water. Not sure if you want to boat out to the Oceanside and dive or dive land based ( beach dive).

Yes, we also stayed at the Post Card Inn on the Oceanside and that was pretty nice until everyone got too the beach and silted things up. Were taking a family trip so I'm pretty restricted this time but want to make the best with what I got. I won't be doing scuba or having my own boat to access but will definitely free dive around several spots in the Keys.

Bring your gear and a dive flag![emoji4] Before I had a boat, in my younger years, me and friends would drive down and snorkel around bridges and other near shore areas. It's surprising what you see so close without a boat down there!

Islamorada is fantastic. My brother worked at IDC for a year, and I was able to visit him after MACNA Miami 2014. We could park at any bridge, jump in and find all kinds of life.

Here's a quick video I made of our dives and snorkeling the mangroves.

If you end up heading that way and are a diver let me know, we'll get you hooked up with IDC :)

Sounds like some fun! Yes, literally you can park on the side of the road and see ALL sorts of fish. Love it!

Thanks! Yes love snorkeling around the mangroves and you do not have to leave but a few yards from the bank to see some beautiful fish! Thanks for the heads up and great video!!
