Hi All, I am doing a 120g build and have a quick question. For your aquascape, do you place your rock directly on the glass and then add sand or do you add sand and then place the rock on top. I am doing a sand bed and using real reef rock, so wanted some thoughts on how best to setup the base of my aquascape. Thanks!

I don't think it really matters in what order....bc overtime the LRs deepest points will sink in the sand and make contact with the glass bottom

I have always placed it on top of the sand without problems. I've read about detritus accumulating if you place your rockwork on top of the sand, but have never noticed that. The only rock that had tons of detritus underneath was my pistol shrimp's home.

Thanks for the replies, I ended up at a big box and just got a thin acrylic that I put on the bottom. Worked like a charm!
