Before I go out an purchase the Tunze Osmolator ATO, I want to make sure I can mount it in my sump. My custom sump leaves me very little room around the sides and the sump has a eurobrace type lip. Can I mount the "dry side" magnet of the ATO in my fresh water reservoir? Or should I find the older hanging version and hang from a baffle plate?

I've attached a pic of the sump for reference.

it can be mounted on the front if the door doesn't come within an 1"-1.5" of the front of the sump. Only down side to that I guess is its in plain view and doesn't "look" good but if your not worried about the way your sump looks, go for it.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the return section is in the back, right corner. If I rotate the sump, the fresh water reservoir is tough to get to.

You might need to cut out a spot in the back of the stand. That sump is in there tight!

I'll look when i get home, but isn't the "back" side of that magnet totally sealed? If it is, i don't see any reason why it couldn't go in the fresh water reservoir..

Thanks Paul...hopefully it's sealed so I can use the "back" side of the magnet in the fresh water reservoir.

Tunze osmolator is awesome! I love mine, hope you get it figured out so you can enjoy yours!

I just looked at mine. Case is Plastic, and the backing is a silicon. Magnet is sealed up tight. I think u'd be fine putting the mag in ur fresh water Reservoir.
