Moving a tank (no livestock)

I'll be picking up a complete tank setup this weekend. This tank had all the livestock wiped out during Beryl. All of the live rock and dead inhabitants were removed and all that is left is the sand. The system has been running and topped off since power returned. Could I remove the sand for the move and place it back in the tank after the move. Since there is no livestock in the tank, I was wondering if it could be used to cycle dry rock that I have on hand for this tank. I was initially planning on cycling the dry rock and biome building in a container using bottled bacteria and Tampa Bay Live sand while I was building out my tank/system. My hope is that there may be some "life" left in the sand that can help to inoculate the dry rock. I guess the risk is minimal. The tank was running for four years prior to the die off.

I would ditch the old sand. There is no telling what is in it. (medications, pests, heavy metals...)

That's a good point! I had a plan to try and build a pest free biome. Or at least as pest free as possible. It would make the teardown and transport so much easier!
