Moving to Madison

Hi All!

I’ll be moving to Madison in the next two weeks, thanks to the moderator for approving my request to join this group. Looking forward to being part of the reefing community in the greater Huntsville metro area!

I’ll be bringing 5 tanks with me. Three nano (2 25 and a 40) and two larger tanks (75 and 150).

Are there ever any frag swaps or other reefing events in the area? Are there any saltwater stores in the area? I know about aquatic cove.

As far as swaps go not really. Id look at the huntsville reef group on Facebook. Things are traded there fairly frequently.

For stores not anything else real close besides AC.
Swans ponds and aquatics in Nashville is also great and so is down south corals in gardendale. Both are about 1.5 hrs from madison.

Welcome! That's a whole lot to move! I don't envy that project. I hope the move goes well!

It sure is. I literally rented a UHaul just to move the tanks, coral and water one day. It’s gonna be a long day for sure!

I also bought two IBC containers to move the water. I’m going to mix up 100 gallons of freshwater and then fill the rest with the tank water to do a water change as part of the process.

5 massive Coleman coolers and 4 Brute trash cans for the coral and fish.

I’m gonna start breaking down the tanks Saturday so I can load everything but the fish and coral on Sunday, so I can load them in on Monday and get going. Thankfully it’s just a few hour drive.
