Mp10 keeps falling off

Actually it is.
A pump falling off the side of the tank is a terrible mechanical design. Petcos 15 dollar pumps are better

As others have noted, the MP10 is designed for smaller tanks with a maximum glass thickness of 9.5 mm. LFS sold you the wrong pump. MP10 probably can be made to work on 10 mm glass as long as you support the dryside.

The MP10 is probably the best pump on the market. Its the only pump i know of that does not put a cord in your tank among other great features. I own 5 of them. A few are more than 2yrs old and ive never had a problem. Its the only pump i will use.

Dont be mad at the pump or think its designed poorly. Its designed perfectly for glass that is no thicker than 9.5mm. Unfortunately your glass is thicker than that, hence your problems.

everyone makes mistakes..... definately some of the nicer pumps out there, especially that can be hidden, good luck finding a nicer one, shoulda got the mp40 to begin with and your lfs should have even asked you questions instead of just taking your money.

Just bought my first vortech quiet drive. The exterior part of the pump keeps falling off the glass.

Do i just use double stick tape to fix it on?
Im kind of bummed this is what I get for a 300 dollar pump
You have 2 options with your mp10...

Aquarium silicon around the edge of your dry side

Or

THIS

I choose the silicon method..

I just ran into the same issue. It is my fault for not checking glass thickness. I am only running it on a JBJ 45 rimless and it constantly falls off. My glass happens to be 10 mm. The MP 40 is massive for my tiny tank though an extra 1 mm would go along way to fitting more tanks. I can’t even turn the MP10 up or it is too much.
I really wanted the ecotech design but maybe a different brand would have been better for my glass thickness. I was replacing the cheap Jeabo on there that never fell off mostly because I was worried about build materials.

your glass may be too thick for it, so maybe try to buy something like this to hold it up?

I ran 2 MP10s on a reefer 300 with 10mm glass. They stayed on fine as long as they are perfectly aligned. They will fall off if lightly bumped. I found correctly alignment so there is no vibration is key.
