I’m debating on getting 2 MP10s or 2 Mp40’s. It would be on a waterbox 70.3 which is about a 45 gallon display tank. I will also have the Nyos viper 5.0 return pump. What should I go with?

Looking at the numbers, 2 mp10s should give you plenty of flow. However, if you ever upgrade tanks, the mp40s may come in handy in a larger tank, and they can be run on low power until then.

I’ve been thinking mp40 because the glass thickness is 10mm as well

Thats a tough decision for sure. I’ll let some others with more experience chime in. Have you thought about other pumps, or are these the only ones that really fit the criteria of what you’re wanting?

I would go with the 10s. I have both a 10 and a 40 on my 75 gallon. I run then under 35%. You need to consider the lowest setting the vortec will run. I've heard they defaut to 20% when programmed lower.

Also, there is a great used market for these pumps if you change your mind.

Mobius is soon to be ready in newer pumps.

I just like the thought of having no wires in the tank that’s the only reason I’m leaning on the vortech pumps

I’m just going to go with the 10s and hopefully they don’t fall off on the 10mm glass

[/QUOTi would go with the 40s Go with the 40s.

10mm? I would go with the 40. You’ll never have to worry about the flow. Put them on wave mode if you find them to be too powerful.
