If I'm making 300 gallons of Salt Water for water change and my instant ocean mixes to 11.3 alk, and I want it 10.3 my formula would be as follows correct ?

300 *2*0.123= 73.8 ml of Muriatic Acid

Is that correct for 300 Gallons of saltwater at 11.3 to get to 10.3

Thanks,

Seachem acid buffer is great. Works exactly the same and is much less toxic to inhale and easy to work with.

Muriatic is Gallons * dKh drop * .123 for the amount of MLs.

So 300 * 1 * .123 for 36.9 MLs.

You can rest easy... if you lower it too far, baking soda can bring it back up... and if not enough, then more muriatic.

Don't forget to aerate for a few days to drive off the co2. If you have a pH pen, you can measure before and then wait until the pH is back up. Strong surface agitation makes is faster.

Thank you so much, perfect info for me. Will a huge power head boiling the water surface work ? CO2 in room is 400-410.
I was aware of the CO2 and low PH when it goes in. I have my pinpoint controller probe in. It was 8.08 with DKH of 11.3 before adding the first 37ml. After 2 hours tested Alk was 10.8, so I added another 37ml, after an hour I'm at 10.4 with a PH of 7.57..... I ill let this ride at 10.4 for 300 gallon water change on 850 gallon reef. Will wait till PH is close to reef tank ph of 8.2 in the am.
Thanks !!!
