Muriatic acid is an awesome cleaner for rock and concrete. But, note that the max recommend fume exposure for muriatic acid is Zero. If you are not going to use a respirator mask rated for acid gas, then use vinegar. Which...any mask that uses 3M carts will work. Some come with the proper cart already in the package. Also, don't store it in the house or garage.

Muriatic acid is great for cleaning plastic water change containers. Does in seconds what it would take vinegar a long time to do. As has been said, don't breath in the fumes.
