ok. So brief story. Back in 2009 had to sell my 210 to pay bills as my job was extremely slowbecause of the economy. Then I started getting a 40b together to start and was surprised with a divorce. So now I still have the 40, but want to hold off starting it until I find a home to but and an able to move. So I decided to start this 10g until then. So heres my adventure. About to walk in to the lfs for rock as I type this up. Reef radiance 165p+, hang on the back filter to hold more live rock and floss, jedao rw4, 10# of sand.

Fish Im kind of stuck on. My daughter loves clownfish and honestly some of the breeds are beautiful. But I also want a pair of them. So not sure itll work in here. I also want some type of shrimp. And corals...... oh boy. Lol. I want colorful. But obviously still at least a month if not longer out. I did buy cycled LR today. Only 8 pounds and it doesnt look like enough. Replaced the jebao rw4 with one of these powerheads which is currently driving me nuts figuring out

Good luck with your build!! Looks like you stacked rock on top of the sand? If so, don’t get any fish that like to dig tunnels, like a goby. Sure would hate for the rock to collapse on the little guy. Just an FYI.....you should place the rock in first, then sand. Just keep that in mind on future builds. Good luck and have fun!!!!

Looks like a good start! You will definitely have enough light. I know you were taking pictures, but you may want to go without light while that rock cures and matures.

Is there a negative to having light on during this process? May just leave the moonlights on during. Been soo long since Ive had a tank I'm guessing I have forgetten some info

If its crap. Tell me and I will get a different sand when I swap to the 20
It might be ok but when it comes to water flow, this stuff will constantly move. Some corals may need more flow where this stuff might be annoying. Plus it has no buffer capacity. It wouldnt be my consideration but should be "ok".

Ok. Ill have to buy more rock to go from the 10 to 20. So at that point I will buy a different sand type. Still deciding what I am going to do about lighting a 20L. Not sure this light will work over it

That light looks adequate to me.
