My 135g AGE build.

This is the saga of tank, I am currently waiting for it to cycle so I can get frags and fish into their new home.

It started as a craigslist find.
I looked at it for a couple days and decided to scoop it up, as it was a good deal at only $300.

Got it home and built a wood stand that was too tall and decided I wanted to build a steel stand for longevity and to maximize useable space under the tank.

I went ahead and bought the steel and contracted a welder to build my new stand.

While waiting for the stand I decided I wanted to move the overflow from the center of the tank to the back wall.

Now I had the existing holes in the bottom of the tank and I really didn't want to use power heads in the tank if I didn't have to, so a closed loop was planned.

Stand all finished up and tested. ;)

Time to put it together.

Cost of the steel and welding I'm into it for about $450. It's a little pricey but worth it in the end I think.

As far as tank equipment I have the following:

Reeflo Dart for the closed loop.
Avast marine Black Pearl cone skimmer with a skimmate locker.
A single 300w titanium heater
The return duties are handled by an ecoplus 1584 submersible pump.
And current lighting is 2 150w metal halide pendants.

Pretty simple setup. Water changes will be done bi-weekly.

I'm looking to make a stand for my 210gal. Was thinking 2x4's and what not, but after seeing yours I might just go with steel to be safe.

Wood is plenty strong if you build it right. I love my steel stand but the cost was hard to swallow, though I would do it again.

Quit crying over the steel cost. It looks freaking awesome. Finally a tank build to reallly be proud of. Plus you saved big time on the tank
