The cycle is under way, tank has cleared up real nice. I do not like the size of the ocean direct sand it blows around way too easy, will be getting it out and putting in the special reef grade. By the way the coralview phone lens works amazingly!! 20211119_184943.jpg 20211119_184956.jpg

Got the lights hung up but not level or adjusted yet, got all the plumbing done. Next up scape and rough set up for the tank to get it cycled. I do need to move the JBJ out of that spot since it is taking the spot of the controller cabinet. 20211224_175319.jpg 20211224_175341.jpg 20211224_175418.jpg 20211224_175412.jpg

Alright well a bit of an update, the tank has been up and running for about 20 days!!! The controller cabinet is set up just need to clean up the wires a bit, Ato is in place and so is the skimmer but that will not be turned on for at least 4 months. The Klir roller mats will be installed around the same time if not later then the skimmers on time, Calcium reactor will be set up maybe in a few weeks.

So as a little update, the JBJ 45 has mainly passed her 1st ugly stage so I got some tester corals! A green slimmer and a Duncan coral. So far so good the Duncan is open and happy and the green slimmer has it polyps extended! 20220219_180028.jpg 20220219_180033.jpg 20220219_180041.jpg

Now for the big girl she has finished her cycle and was ready for her 1st load of fish! So as the 1st inhabitants she got 2 purple tangs, 3 yellow tangs, 1 scopas tang. It was supposed to be 2 scopas but one did not make it through QT. And fresh in qt right now ther is a Achilles tang. Blond naso tang, parrot wrasse, male bird wrasse, female bird wrasse and a six line wrasse. They will be done with QT in about 5 weeks so that's ample time to let the bio load settle from the new load of fish. 20220219_180525.jpg

Hey all a bit of un update on both tanks, so the jbj 45 is coasting along I have not been doing any water changes or anything beside dosing ALL FOR REEF at 5ml a day to keep alk at 8.5. I did have all the sps die off but got a new chunk of green slimmer that has been encrusting and not dying for about a month now. I will now be slowly adding more sps and letting it do its thing

And now for the big girl! So 1 purple tang did not make it and 2 yellow tangs did not make it but now the tank has 1 purple 1 yellow 1 scopas tang, 1 Large terminal male blond naso tang, male bird wrasse and female bird wrasse. that will be it for now since I am bare bottom so I rather let the tank stabilize and not have a potential crash due to bioload overload. I have had 2 frags of sps in it for about a month with good polyp extension and a duncan coral that has been loving life. so far so good, all I have to do is dose 16ml ALL FOR REEF to keep alk at 8.5 . I will be adding more corals weekly now soooo happy she is doing well.
