Following. I think I'm going to emulate a bit in my new 55 lps/softie build. I may not do gfo and 2 part, but ill be quick to dose vinegar and kalkwasser if needed. Planning on adding ozone once its cycled and occupied in a few months. Please share updates!!

LOL. I get that!! I found a 55 gallon Corner tank for a hundred bucks at a yard sale and thought I could do this on the cheap. Ugh...

Well it’s been a long time since I’ve updated as not much has been done till the last 2 weeks. Ive upgraded my dosing pump, Skimmer, refugium light, and refugium/sump. My Jabeo dosing pump died after a year.
Dosing pump replaced with a Coral Box WiFi. First impression is awesome and easy to set-up.
Reef Octopus Regal 250 Skimmer
Kessil H380 refugium light.
I made a new refugium/sump. The 55 is out and the 90 gallon is in. What a huge change! I have so much more room now. Both the refugium and Reef Octopus Regal 250 Skimmer have their own 18”x 17 3/8 chambers now. I built the 90 gallon baffles using 1/4” glass and let the silicone cure for a full week while waiting on the Coral Box and new Skimmer to arrive. Re-plumbed the intire tank and included unions this time as I never realized how much I wish I had them during monthly maintenance! The wife always complained about the sound of the water overflowing in the old sump so I built a cover over the overflow and filter pad chambers using a leftover piece of 1/4 glass. After all these years of listening to her complaints about the tank within 5 minuets of having everything complete and cleaned up I caught her standing in front of the tank with a big smile. She looks at me and says why in the hell didn’t you do this the first time? Lol I looked at her and asked if I was still in the dog house for all the money I’ve spent on the tank? Her response was priceless! “ well are you still sticking with the story of what you told me you spent or are you going to be honest ? Oh by the way I audited your credit card receipts while cleaning the file cabinet last week “. I just look d at the floor and asked if I could plead the fifth lol. This all happened Saturday evening.
Well today I was asked if I wanted to take a ride into town with her as she wanted to go shopping. After knowing she knew how much I’ve truly spent in the last 2 years I was hard pressed to say no. Well to my surprise her first stop was our lfs!!! She walks over to the frag tanks looks at me and says I want to be involved!!! I said awesome but some of these are very pricey. She responded with I’m picking them and your paying and that’s your punishment. This lil **** picked out nothing but hi end SPS Acros and Montis that they just received. I’m not a big SPS guy so after they fully QT them I’ll be picking up just over a grand of SPS corals on the 10th. Oh by the way that’s only 9 corals she picked out and mostly Jason Fox stuff. After I pick them up and get them acclimated I’ll have to do a follow up.

Well it's been awhile so here's some updated pictures.

These two Hybrid Cinnamon Clowns are so protective of their Black Widow Nem. If I'm doing maintenance they leave me alone but the second I get within a foot of the Nem they act like piranhas and attack my hand or even the glass cleaner! As you can see they don't even like me taking pictures of their Nem!!! Lol The Black Widow split again so you can see them watching over their new baby Nem.

My Emperor Angel is starting to make the change. I've had him for 1-1/2 years and he has quadrupled in size. Between him and our Sailfin Tang no food ever makes it to the overflow lol. I've watched both take food away from the Marine Beta and both Groupers!!! Always funny to have the Groupers and Marine Betta swimming around like Dad they took our food again!!! Lol

Now just waiting on the pair of Niger Triggers, pair of Clown Triggers, Queen Angel, Regal Angel, BlueFace Angel, and Flagfin Angel to arrive in about two weeks.
In about 6 months they will be mixed between the three tanks.
100 gallon upstairs tank is fully cycled and waiting.
240 gallon will be slowly moved into 600 gallon tank after it’s finally done and be the coral tank with all the angels we have and are getting. 240 gallon will be changed to predator tank with puffers, groupers, triggers, and possibly a eel.
Guess I need to put the adult drinks down at night and get going on the new tank that I keeps saying will be done and get it done and cycling before I run out of QT room, not sure how long the old 55 and 100 will last as a QT if I keep buying fish! Lol

The 240 will be moved in about 2 weeks into its new in wall home. Been concentrating on the new 600 build. All the fish are doing great I just haven’t taken any pictures in a while as my attention has shifted to the build. Once it’s up and running I’ll get some fresh pictures as a lot will be changing.
