How pleased are you with the Planet aquariums 310 build quality? I have been looking at that tank, and the 450 (similar dimensions), but the 450 is like 3 times the cost. But I did see some of their tanks at a show here in Chicago years ago and wasn’t impressed...great job thus far!

So for it looks very solid. To be honest I was very nervous at first but when it arrived it definitely looked better than I expected.

Reef tank. Fish and lots of coral. I just don't have any room left in my 60 Gallon to do much more and I really enjoy it. I've had the 60 Gallon for 2 years and 9 days. So I'm ready (smile).

that is going to be one heck of a reef. just think of all the corals you can keep!!

Also, a few more things were installed.

AquaMaxx ConeS CO-5 In-Sump Protein Skimmer

One Neptune COR-20 Pump for the return.
Finnex 800w+ Titanium Heater Element

A backer board that was painted the same color as the walls to use for mounting the APEX equipment.

Lastly, final sanding was done and the walls are being primed right now to get ready for some paint.

Good choice on the skimmer I bought a ConeS Q3 for my new 180 build coming soon and right now it’s being used on my 46 and works like no tomorrow to clean the waste out..

So one change on the equipment list.

Vertex line has been discontinued so I'm no longer getting two of the Vertex RX-U 2.5L Media Reactors.
Instead I'm getting two of the following.
AquaMaxx Fluidized GFO and Carbon Filter Media Reactor - XL

Also a little bit more work has been done to the tank. The wood accent pieces to go around the tank have been cut and stained with the 1st coat.

Also the Apex Controller has been mounted and cabled.

1. So obviously the Apex controller is the top row.
2. In the middle row we have the FMM module on the left to handle water changes. In the center is the controller for the return pump. On the right is the FMM module to handle ATO and Floor Sensors.
3. The bottom row on the left will likely be the for automated Water Changes. And the bottom right will be for automated dosing.

Lastly new base board was put up around the tank. Still need a bead of white caulk to go around the top of it but at least it's installed now.

One more item I forgot to mention. I ordered live rock and sand from Tampa Bay Saltwater. My preference! No need to get in a live vs dead debate here. It's just a build thread (smile). But you will at least get to see how it progresses as I will update periodically once the tank is up and running. Florida has had a horrible winter so unfortunately I have to wait a little while before I can get the shipment. But once I do it will ultimately be the following:

480 lbs of Live Rock
240 lbs of Live Sand
240 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs
120 Astrea Snails
10 Tiger Tails/Cucumbers
5 Serpent or Brittle Stars
5 Peppermint Shrimp
