Looking good. nice corals. Are you getting much growth with your LEDs or just maintaining. The new cree XT-E's are 10watts each. and come in royal blue and three whites.

I am getting tons of growth with them.
There are many new LEDs that could work better but I have not seen a reason to upgrade these lights.

From reading your tank info it looks like you have DIY LED setup is this true. I have been seriously thinking of switching from my MH lighting to some reef spectrum P47 fixtures from reefledlights.com

Thanks!
Been running the LEDs since March 2010 and have loved every minute of it. No regrets at all.

looks nice. you have different degree optics. did you get the kit at reefledlights? Do you use an apex to control your lights.?
I'm going with
Binned LEDs
24 Premium XT-E Royal Blue
6 XP-E Blue
15 Premium XT-E Cool White
2 XP-E Blue Moon Light
with carlico reflectors.
times three for total of three fixtures.

I started with
4 sets of these:
12 x XP-G R5 Cool White LEDs -55 degree optics
12 x XR-E Royal Blue LEDs
12 lenses for the XR-E LEDs - 60 degree
1 x LPC-35-700 driver for the XR-E's
1 x LPC-60-1050 driver for the XP-G's
2 Power Cords
4 Wire Nuts

Then
24 LEDs more LEDs were added later all blue with 60 degree optics

all purchased from rapidled

I add 2 Tunze Stream 6105s to the tank to get just a little more flow. I added a 7096 Tunze Multicontroller. This should change the pump power randomly from 30%-100%

Nice reef!!
Glad you are having good luck with your butterflies and angels. I played that game a few years back and lost. The pyramids were model citizens for about 3 years and then one day turned into coral eaters - not so much with SPS but the ate all my premium LPS. My emperor angel wasn't fussy and ate pretty much all kinds of corals & nipped at the clams. It's always a hit & miss gamble with some fish so I'm glad it's working for you.

Beautiful maculiceps. Does yours eat a lot of sand? Mine eats as much sand as nori. So jealous of your emperor angel, one of my favorite fish. If I didn't have so many LPS I'd chance the Emperor.

The fish I have are considered safe with SPS. I would not trust them with LPS.
If feed correctly pyramids should not go after corals, they are plankton eaters in the wild. I feed a variety of food atleast twice a day.

The maculiceps does not eat any sand so far :)
