I took some quick Par readings, since my Orphek Atlantik icon is new to me. Center of tank directly under the light was just over 300. Deeper at center bottom was about 220.As soon as I got off-center par dropped. At either end of the light it's dropped to about 100 at the rack.At the ends and corners par drops to about 50. It gives me choice on light intensity and with Gyre's at both ends, choice of flow too . Now the adventure truly begins.

Anyone else still use these little plastic bits to grow their bacteria on? I still have bags, receipt says I paid $45 for 5 pounds back in 2014. Sorry about the noise but phone was right in there.

In the reefing world, we have live rock to break down ammonia to nitrate, and since corals use ammonia we actually prefer not to use bioballs/biorings etc.

That light is beautiful, corals are going to love it.

OK, where were we?
I have started moving frags and added few fish. Tank is in my work-from-home office, need fish to be my co-workers. I know what some people say about Green Chromis, but they are happy little fish.

Back when I did acrylic work, I always offered tumbling media, same as larger applications in water treatment just smaller for our hobby. These little things:

In this sump the water level adjustment plate was just short enough to allow media to escape. Huge shout out to Marine Biosystems who sold me the sump kit. I reached out and asked if they could do custom one, we messaged back and fort a couple of times. Longer slots and little more height. I'll just say for very reasonable they made one and delivered. Here is picture of the original one.
