Hey Everyone! just wanted to share my 75G build. This is my first reef tank so forgive any mistakes, I'm still learning and I'm open to any and all advice! Thanks!
Here she is, after testing it outside I moved it inside and started filling it with RODI water, which took longer than expected!
After that it was time to add the crushed coral sand bed and the salt. I gave it time to settle down and let it cycle for awhile to let it clear up some.
Getting clearer, I added some live rock mixed with some dry rock, the sand as well was live to help seed the live rock with good bacteria!
During the cycling I also built a sump! custom made baffles and a tunze protein skimmer were added.
Thats better! Crystal clear with some Blue Damsels added to the tank!
Upgraded the lighting to the USA Current Marine Orbit IC Pro. Its suited my tank well.
Wall mounted the controllers for the loop controller.
Sump going strong with filter sock return, protein skimmer, live rock and cheato algae to filtrate.
Oh no! the baffle walls failed, time to DIY a new drip system King of DIY style. Its still running this system today and its working wonderfully. Each chamber is running filtration. I also run an eshoppes overflow on the back of the tank which also runs philter floss and phosguard. The return pump runs a large sponge filter before the intake as well as purigen.
Now were stocked with corals. Baby frags until I know what I'm really doing. Purple tip hammer, zoas, hollywood stunner, pipe coral, zoas, galaxea.
On top of the dwarf zebra a coral beauty and scopas tang were added. Sadly the coral beauty was impaled by the lion fish and met an untimely fate. The scopas tang lived a month longer and has passed away to an unknown illness. The lionfish and damsels are doing perfectly well however. An Favia Coral was added.
