Tank looks good. What mods are you looking to do?
until last week everything was original in the tank , last week i toke a bunch of bioballs out and replaced it with small pcs of live rocks .I also ordered in 2 large foams like i saw in a video on youtube to insert in the second chamber and bough the power head 400 to create a better circulation .

My nitrite is hight and i had lots of algees so did 2X 40% water change this week got nitrite down half way or so (using RO water that i bought) . I admit that i have been bad not doing regular water changes cause every time i would do one with tap water my tank would go nut (red slim to green algee).

So i have my heater in chamber 1 , foams are comming for chamber 2 and will have live rocks in the other half of the second chambers and original pump in the 3rd chamber.

debaiting on getting a skimmer...some say biocube dont need one  but i wonder if it would help with nitrite.

What size biocube do you have? I had a 14gal for a few years. I would have just keep the bioballs. I never had a problem and the rock you replace it with is going to do the same thing. You could even start a small cycle when you remove them. If you want to upgrade, look into getting rid of the hood and get a different light system. The lights are terrible. If you keep the lights and the hood, go on eBay and buy a few extra fans for the lights. If they go out during the summer, You are in trouble. I like your tank and think it looks great though!

Yea I had mine in Phoenix Arizona and it got way too hot to make a mistake. With my current setup I did a little DIY project for my cooling system. IMAG0636.jpg

I took the back cover off and replaced it with eggcrate painted black. Installed a muffin fan over the 3rd bay. Heat problem solved.
This made me replace more topoff water. ATO to the rescue. As a bonus, kalkwasser is added in topoff rodi water. Stable tank now.

I've read on people doing the foam inserts and have heard that they are nitrate factories. I've really liked inTank's media basket and fuge basket. Other than those, a nice skimmer, some LEDs, and decent power heads will give you all the growth you can handle in a BC.

If you want to look at the baskets, they can be bought from lots of places....amazon was the easiest for me. Just make sure to get the right ones....there are Coralife ones a day Oceanic. If you do decide to go with with a fuge basket too, make sure to get a light....I use the JBJ Nano Glo and it's been great.

wow very nice , what are the 4 clips for ?

They were left from the trap door I removed. I did not modify the lid at all. The solid door just snaps off. I zip tied the muffin fan to the egg crate and zip tied the eggcrate to the lid. Krylon makes paint for plastic. It's what I used to paint the eggcrate black. It just kind of blends in being black.
I go thru about a gallon a day of top off water. We did not have a winter here, so air conditioner has run all winter for the most part.

I bought mine on Amazon also. Bought the basket and the fuge. Got the JBJ light also. Run it at night when the tank lights are off. Heater, I placed in 3rd bay. Aqualife 115 skimmer in 1st bay.

I run Chemipure Elite and some phosphate and nitrate pads in the basket. I place pillow floss in the top of the basket and throw it away every 2 or 3 days.
