Hello everyone, my buddy is setting g up a tank, he asked me if 2 t5 lamps would be o for sps if the sps are 8 inched below the water line and the lights are low, like 7 inches above thr water ? I didn't know how to answer him, hence why I'm asking here lol by the way it's a 20 gal tall tank

SPS are not created equal and neither are any corals. Med to high light corals (all types) no it's not quite enough.
If you choose a high par t5 like a Ati coral plus and a purple instead of blue. Then add some thing like a current orbit led strip. You
You might donwell with med med high light corals and def have no probs with other types.
Not bad considering it would only be about 160 to 200 bucks maybe less. if you shop right.
I miss my old 20 g. I wish I new then what I now now abou light.
