My clams seem to be gaping

So my clams seem to be gaping but they have been like this for a long time. I have 5 and it seems they all do it. I saw some pics of others that were open a lot like mine and no one seemed to think anything about it but when I read about it what I read says they are gaping. I just want someone to tell me they are not. Thanks.

Never mind. I just read another article that explained it much better. It showed the difference of an wide opened mounth and gaping. Most of mine have a wide open mouth and I read its pretty normal for larger clams. all but one of my clams are over 6" I have another question when measuring do you include the mantel or just the shell. Thanks

Yep normal, are they showing new shell growth?

Not as much as I would like but thats because my doser stopped dosing calcium for longer then I would have liked. Thing are almost back to normal.
