I figured I would start a forum on the fish I currently have and describing what I like about my particular fish. I'd like if others added because I always like hearing about others experiences, and we can possibly open the door for people to try fish they wouldn't have thought would work for them.
My tank in roughly favorite order.

Marine betta : this is easily one of my top fish. The spotting on it is gorgeous and even though it likes to be in caves I can usually always find it in my aquarium. It is nice and other than eating my peppermint shrimp it has been an outstanding citizen... my shrimp killed a condy anemone so I wasn't very sad about their death. My particular specimen has not touched my fire shrimp but it was full grown when I got the marine betta.

Flame hawk : my newest addition and I'm in love. It is very very aware of me when I'm in the room. Hasn't tried to eat my cleaners yet or a small dotty back I have. Always out and ready to eat and have a stare down. Probably the cutest personality I've seen in a fish.

Engineer goby : although he is a master digger and has killed a acan of mine by burying it he is still a fave of mine. I got it before it transitioned so it was cool to watch it change. I also have always thought eels were cool but didn't really want to deal with the temperament of one. (I like small fish) so I got an engineer goby instead and have never ever ever regretted the decision even though it can be a little messy when digging.

Coral beauty : I wanted an angel but didn't want to deal with it possibly destroying my corals. I got extremely lucky in getting a coral beauty that is mostly orange and yellow with purple only in the fins and blue lining the fun tips. Hasn't been aggressive to any fish and hasn't nipped at corals (I have mostly soft) if everyone could get my exact specimen I'd definitely reccomend it but angels are always risks and mine could turn on me anyday.

Hippo tang : a big baby... always hides when you walk into the room but it is my big show stopper fish. I have nothing else that gets as big and takes up much swimming space. The color is amazing and she has been pretty nice for the most part. My biggest problem is that she darts in the rocks the first glimpse she gets at a human.

Accessors basslet : great personality and I got a major deal at a store because of the length of time it was there. It likes to swim vertically and just seems like it is always having a blast swimming around the tank. The yellow is pretty and temperament is great.

Common clowns : some of my first fish. It was awesome to watch them grow and they are so so so super nice to everyone. I don't have much to say about them, they're always out in the open and the way they swim is adorable. I got them because my mom wanted nemos but don't worry their names are jack and jill.

Blue Green chromis : my starter fish. They are beautiful in colors and they are only so far down on my list because of how bad they do in captivity. They are prone to illness and most don't even last 3 months, if I would have known that I probably wouldn't have even tried them. I'm happy I have them but probably wouldn't get more, I started out with 6 and now have 2 that are a year old now, the other 4 died in about a month in introduction and not due to water quality, they had disease.. I forget the name but the sides of them became red, I was literally reading about it on here a month ago.

Lawnmower blenny : he's adorable but will only eat growing algae, won't eat prepared food at all for me. Good news is I have an established tank with loads of rocks to pick off of. I had a starry blenny before my lawnmower who I lost when my heater died... the starry would have been at the top of my list because he ate everything and the color/pattern changes were out of this world. I'd definitely reccomend a starry over a lawnmower but they're both cool fish.

Springeri dottyback : hides a lot because of my six line chasing jt constantly but it a cute little fish. I got it to replace a orchid who I got captive bread from ORA when it was the size of my pinky nail. Needless to say the springeri had a lot to live up to. I don't see it often but it is a cute little guy who does no harm to anything, it is still very small so who knows how the temperament will change but as of now I'd reccomend it to anyone. The blue on it is so striking!!!

6 line wrasse : he's a cool guy but hates dottybacks. So right not I have a new springeri in my tank who is typically hiding because the wrasse just chases it into a rock. It has not been aggressive to any other fish or invert other than dottybacks. He's low on the list because I like him but if he wasn't in my tank I'd live.

I have a 120 tank.

This is a great idea! I like hearing about personality and behavior because that's what I'm looking for in a fish. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I was hoping more would contribute. I like hearing about others experiences and maybe we could turn someone on to a fish they would have never thought about.

I won't write about my current fish, since I am in the process of setting up a new tank after a series of disasters. Some of my past favorites though:

Midas Blenny - I love the big blue eyes. I love how they swim like eels. I love how they alternate between swimming right at the glass like "look at me" and perching on rocks. I find it fascinating that they change colors to a dull stripy brown when frightened, although obviously I tried never to frighten mine.

Magnificent Foxface - I was a little worried about getting a venomous fish at first. The whole idea seemed weird in my peaceful tank. I quickly discovered what big babies they are though. My foxface got along with everything, but his best friend was the copperband butterfly that he always swam with. I never needed to worry about accidentally getting poked by his spines. As soon as my hand touched the water, he would freeze in place and go into camo mode.

Blue Spot Jawfish - Unfortunately, now I know that my warm, tropical tank was the totally wrong temperature for this guy so I won't be getting another. However, while I had Walter (and after he died, Walternate), I loved his little cranky attitude about his burrow. He always had his head popped out--up until the tank lights went off and he used a shell as a door to cover his space.

Clownfish - Yes, they are pretty much the Honda Civic of saltwater; everyone seems to have one. I've had Tomatoes, Ocellaris, and now Perculas. Each has been a bit different in behavior, but they have all been fun to watch and front and center of my tank.
