My Deep Blue Starphire Rimless build

Thought I would document some of my newest build.
Deep Blue 80gal Starphire rimless tank and deep blue stand
It will be bare bottom
Approximately 80lbs of Carib sea life rock
Apex controlled
Pacific sun Hyperion led T5 hybrid light
ATB 840 white version protein skimmer
2-mp 40w QD
1- gyre 150 in back behind rock
Bubble Magnus dosing pump- bulk reef two part
BRS reactor for carbon/phos guard
Trigger system 39" emerald sump with refugium
Refugium light undecided
Will add more as the build continues

Hey man nice tank.
I heard the kit for the overflow is garbage that comes with the deep blue tanks. Did u happen to upgrade it? If not I would look into it as people have had some problems with them.
But a very nice set up and tank I love the rimless look

I have not upgraded it, but so far I have no problem with it " knock on wood" a mag 9.5 return pump dialed back just a bit and it is handling it just fine. What problems have you heard of?

Other then a wire loom not sure how I can hide the wires. There not long enough to go through the wall and back down to the electronics.

Have u ever put in a flat screen tv? To do it properly by code u have to run another out let behind the tv so run an outlet behind the light if u can.
And mostly that they are very loud and horribly made I was looking into their 60 gallon rr tank and I forget but just google it and it will come up

The lights will be plugged into the apex to control if the tank temp gets to hot to **** them off

Have u ever put in a flat screen tv? To do it properly by code u have to run another out let behind the tv so run an outlet behind the light if u can.

Yes they are loud out of the package but a couple extra holes drilled in the top and no more noise. It's very quiet

Now concerning ur lights u can make an extension chord thru the wall legally with two outlets one by the lights and one behind the sump near the apex u run the wire threw the wall like an extension chord but done legally up to electrical code and then plug it into ur apex I will show u what I mean when I get home if ur lost and don't understand. I mean I just think it's a shame to have a rimless tank like that and see the light wire

If there was a way that I could do it trust me I would but with the dedicated power supplies for the LEDs and the ballast box for the T5's there is just not enough length to do it the way you're describing

I will pm u when I get to work there is a way just involves a little work but in my opinion the work justifies it it is ur tank so u can do whatever u want to do this post kinda comes off cocky and arrogant and I'm not trying to be that way at all ur tank is very nice the way it is I just know that those chords would make me angry if I had to look at them everyday with a rimless set up like u have I'm not tryin to be anything but helpful so sorry if it is coming off any other way I'll pm u in like an hiur

I'm not taking it the wrong way. And if there's a way I'm interested, but to be honest the single wire loom doesn't bother me.
