We are hosting our club's Holiday party tomorrow which means roughly 40 fellow reefers are going to be coming over to hang out and talk shop which is right up our alley. In anticipation we decided to drink some wine and clean the frag tank up a bit to make it all pretty. What do you do when you clean? You take some pictures. I am getting used to the frag tank lighting and setting it all up so the pics are ok. Santa might be bringing me a macro lens so we are going to have some serious fun come January. Without further ado:

Sand is in and this is pretty much the final aqauscape. We got some more tonga branch for the back corner part but we are going to leave it pretty open.

Couple of new live stock photos. We have not transferred everything over because we do not have the mesh cover on that, but the piece for that should be here very soon. Ethan and I are going to try something pretty cool so we will keep you all updated on that. The corals we are just letting get used to the system down in the frag tank under T5s which is where most of them came from. Once we are confident in the water quality we will adjust everything to the lights.

We will be upgrading to the mp60 soon as well.

I love your aquascape. Looks like one of those Amano tanks. Great job.

Thank you for the kind words. It took me a VERY long time and one whole heck of epoxy to create the aquascape, but to be honest, I did have fun doing it (yes, this is the nikkit part of (mnat).
The tank is way under stocked, but slow & steady wins the race, and so far, all the animals we have moved to the display are doing well. We are enjoying this build very much!

Been a while since I updated this so I finally took a ton of pictures to share with you all:
So I took 300 pictures today and trimmed it down into the 80s. That is what happens when you don't take pics for a while and everything is going pretty well. I will start with the DT:

The coraline algae is really taking off so the rocks are really looking good, not white like they first were.

Here is a close up of the screen top and how we put it on as not to ruin the rimless part:

Aurelentas anthia, really becoming our favorite fish. We are trying to source some females but they are hard to get:

Here are our pair of borbonius, they are living in the recirc tank until they fatten up and get a little larger. They are just too small at this point to hang in the DT. Sorry it is really tough to get a picture of these guys due to the lighting, them running away, and the tank is a touch dirty.

Thanks man, it has been too long. I need to get some zoas from you. The only corals that suffered the move were my zoas as I think the new system is too clean.

There are things you will need to learn about your build that you can only learn when the build is up and running. One of our lessons was that due to the height of the build, the lights hit you right in the eyes, especially when we were sitting on the couch. We had to leave the light really low which led to spotlighting and bleaching of our purple stylo and one of the reasons we were not bringing our corals up from the frag tank. Ethan and I brain stormed about what we could do and came up with a floating canopy which would attach to the light bar. I got all the materials and Ethan built it while we were away in Aruba. Needless to say it came out amazing, and Ethan put a lot of time into it so big kudos to him. So of course now the pictures:
