I saw a lot of threads on digitate hydroids and people shutting down their tanks because of it. So I figured I would share my story in the odds it helps a fellow reefer.

I had them start to multiply like crazy even after I stopped dosing phyto and reef roids. I decided to try the natural route and and ordered 4 peppermint shrimp, 5 bumblebee snails and 2 Halloween hermits. I am not sure which of these did it, but knock on wood all of the hydroids in my tank are gone after about 2 weeks. Therefore, if you run into the "im gonna shut down my tank these are terrible phase", give it a try!

For me it was either the yellow banded shrimp or the tuxedo urchin (I would actually see the urchin eat them as a byproduct of grazing), but after a month or so, they were all gone!

Halloween hermit crabs. they wipe em out. i have 6 in my 200g ,,,,only thing is they also have picked food from my lps, lobos. But not a lot and nothing i can deal with
