Well I figure its time to get started on my build thread ( No pictures currently my camera is busted!)
I have had one tank prior to this which was a freshwater with our local fish bluegill, crappie large mouth/small mouth bass ect ect it went well the entire time granted I used everything from where I caught them.
My plans are a mixed reef sps heavy reef.
I currently have a 75g display tank from marineland and I will be using a 40b with a DIY kit as a sump. The stand doesnt support a sump so the sump will be in the basement.
This will be an adventure and I hope you all will be able to enjoy the trials and tribulations.

Current inventory
75g marineland aquarium with stand
(I have already drilled this aquarium with 3 drains and 2 return)
40g breeder
100lbs of dry rock
Reef octo 150sss classic
3x 55 gallon food grade water barrels
20h qt tank with oversized hob heater and powerhead waiting to go.

Sounds like you are ready to get this started! I have a similar setup...but my 40b sump is housed within my stand.

Yeah I just need to set aside a day and power through it and take some pictures im just going to hand build an Rodi unit as seems to be much cheaper ive been looking at #noopsyche 's K7 v3 for lighting im thinking 4 of them will accomplish a good spread on the 75. As far as return pumps go im torn ive been thinking about getting 2x jebao 3500 pumps just to get started and then trying to get 2 cor20 pumps later down the road. Wavemakers is a whole discussion as well 2 nero 3 and 2 nero 5s is what I keep coming back to. I could go on forever it seems with gear but heres what I want to get
Lighting : 4x NP K7 v3
Return: 2x jebao 3500 then Neptune cor20
Wavemaker: 2x nero 3 2x nero 5
Heater : 2x 200w with a standalone controller ink bird or w/e
Mechanical filtration: roller mat no clue what one yet though
With all that I will be able to get started and get by with water changes I think but I always feel like im forgetting something lol.
think

So the package was delivered to your door, then fedex picked it up thinking it was a return and took it away???

Or was it just stolen by a porch pirate?

It was fedex. The whole story is that my father in law orded an axle which ended up being the wrong one. This axle is for a military truck and is enormous its over 4 feet in length weights around 80lbs fedex was supposed to pick it up. Well apparently a small box that was labeled lithium ion batteries fit the bill and they took that instead

Red circle is the package that was supposed to be picked up. Drivers face is obscured for privacy or w/e

Ugh, that does suck, I feel like fedex should be on the hook for it though since they took it away. I can see how they can't find it properly though since it wouldn't have the tracking number of the axle.

Update! My noopsyche lights have been found! They are in Pennsylvania. Which is the wrong side of the United states but they are still in existence!

Yeah fedex really ended up being worthless in this whole ordeal they completely refused to work with me.

There here they arrived! These lights have got some mileage on them from china to Oregon to Pennsylvania and back to Oregon.
