I picked up my first torch frag last night. It’s just a green tipped torch from a fellow hobbyist. I dipped it and put it in the tank after dark. This morning it was all open and happy, I guess that’s a good sign. Now I need to figure out where to mount it, but it seems pretty happy where it is!

Very cool! Congrats on the new coral! Be sure to give it lots of room, when it really opens up those tentacles can reach pretty far :)

I’m guessing that it will kill zoas? I think I’m going to mount it over by some pink zoas that are taking over. I’ve been beating them back with F Aptasia trying to control them. This guy may help me! 😀

Anything those tentacles can reach, it will sting. Just be careful with killing off zoas, never know if they carry the palyotoxin or not

I’ve gone at it slow and doubled my Rox 0.8 carbon in my reactor just in case. The water does smell for a couple hours after I kill some of them. I’m just doing 5 or 6 polyps at a time. I do now know that I’ll never put zoas in a mixed reef again! 🤪
