OK it's finally coming along. I have been planning on getting a doser longer than I've had a reef tank. LOL, not really but it seems that long/ I have been using kalk in the tunze 5074 dispenser. I will keep the dispenser in hopes to utilize it again one day. It served its purpose for the time being, but it did not allow me to precisely control my alk and calc levels. I saved my pennies and bought the jebao doser per @jsker and @120reefkeeper suggestion. Both of these guys have awesome SPS tanks and I'm glad I took their advice. The DP-4 was $65 and at that price point I was satisfied and so was my fiance. spending $400 on a doser would not fly right now. So I got my doser and decided to go with the Reefgrow line for additives. They also recommend dosing bromide and manganese, but I'm only dosing alkalinity right now until my other levels come down. Yesterday my levels were alk 8.0, calc 470, and mag 1470. I'm shooting for 8.5, 440, and 1425 because that is where the fritz RPM salt I use tests at. Hopefully the reefgrow stuff is as amazing as I have been told and I won't have to seek out a different brand soon. I'm actually dosing my old aquaforest alkalinity right now, but will switch over to all reefgrow once my levels are leveled... that sounded weird. anyways, a few pics...

Thanks guys. After the leak test, I'm going to let it cycle while I save up for a new fixture and skimmer, so this could very well take several months. At least it will be cycleddddddddd.

Happy and sad times all at the same time this weekend. I sold off a bunch of equipment I was no longer using. I also decided to liquidate all of my corals except for the ones gifted to me by friends. It's all for a good reason though... No, I am not getting out of the hobby. Getting deeper in it actually. I've been planning my frag system build and the exact same light I use, but the 36" version just came up for sale locally. These recovery funds are going towards the purchase of a 36" ATI dimmable 6 bulb fixture. It is a deal I couldn't pass up so I made some money become available for it. I was planning on setting up the tank this weekend but the weather is cold and wet out here in West, TX. The happiness outweighs the sadness, or at least it will once my system gets up and running. All I have left to do is clean/scrape the tank and paint the back of it. I have 2 cans of plastidip laying around. One can of black and one can of blue. I'm thinking about laying down a very light coat of blue and then going over it with the black to give it a faded black/blue look. I'm no artist, but I have a vision of what this might look like.
