My Fish & coral pics

I finally caved and purchased a subscription to Lightroom. I must admit that it sucks editing on my phone… It is a game changer, but I also am having a difficult time learning how to make it look like what I see in person…. After much thought, I realized my violet channel is throwing pictures off…. What can I say, I like the violet look so I run my LEDs at 100% violet. ‍*shrug*

Next time I go to take pictures, I think I will try experimenting on lowering the violets.

I love this pic.
Can't do magic on compressed photo's and I hope you don't mind... but I liked the photo and wanted to see it with a bit less light...

It's a serious good pic.

U shoot the pics with the Lightroom app?

Thank you! That was one of my first pictures with my new camera (and zero photography skills). This particular picture I took and posted with zero editing (other than slapping a watermark on in canva). I didn’t have any editing software at the time, and I finally broke down late this month and bought a year subscription with Lightroom.

I’m taking pictures with my canon r8 and now I edit in Lightroom on my phone. Hoping to eventually buy a laptop so I can do it a little easier/better.

Its always a personal preference but you could pull back the shadows a bit in Lightroom. My personal taste likes that but not everyone.

For example

I appreciate the feedback and insights. I messed around a little bit with that this morning, so surprising timing.

I’m still trying to “find my style” and learn it all— I have found I tend to like the photos on the brighter side. Some of my frustration has been more with purples.

Here’s a new one for you. the one with two Anthias is an example of the purple issue I was talking about (fins) , but I thought it was a pretty awesome pic.

I’m hopeful I’m getting better/improving.

Edit: whoops, apparently R2R doesn’t like .tiffs, so back to jpeg

This is so sharp
I love sharp photos, I appreciate the compliment. Here are a few more sharp ones I’m excited about.

I am stoked I got the one of the Dispar anthias fully extending his mouth, you don’t see pictures like that often.

Probably my all time favorite so far is the one with all 3 Anthias in it… they are so photogenic. I will say that the snail deciding to spawn when I was taking pictures was a both cool and frustrating (because then the water column wasn’t clear anymore).
