So was completing a feed last night and all my fish are pretty gutsy

I have 2 clowns
Scooter blenny ( dragnet fish)
Clown face goby (coral goby) recently purchased month ago

Have some hermits
Some snails (astrea)
And some light corals nothing too major

When completing my feed I could not see the coral goby come out to eat was strange so I moved all my rocks around and some out of the tank to do a check to see where he was as he likes to hide in the rocks

And there was no sign of him anywhere no bones no flesh like litteraly it’s like he was never in my tank

Parameters have not spiked on anything could the hermits have eaten him totally away

The strange thing is I noticed him feeding day and half ago ???

I don’t know what type of setup you have I found my missing clown in the back chamber alive and healthy. Also, do you have a dog and/or a cat? It could have made for a nice snack if it went carpet surfing.

How big is the tank?
How long have you had the fish?
160ltr / 43gal

Had the fish for a good few months the missing fish around a month

When I did my check I picked up and checked all angles of all rocks and then placed them back where they were it was weird he no longer exists in my tank not even remnants of his body are in there

Is it magic?

Yes I have a dog and cat however they are trained to leave the tank alone and don’t even look at it (that took some time I tell ya)

I did a pretty hardcore check and my coral goby normally rushes out of hiding for feeding time cos my clowns are so greedy

He did not last night which was really weird as he knows the time for feeding

So just to be clear, its only the clown goby thats missing?
Do you have a serpent or bristle star in your tank?

If you have an aio or overflow, check the back areas. Or it got spooked as gobies are notorious Apollo mission specialists (jumpers) and the animals got it or it's behind the display somewhere. Lost a few fish behind the tank for months/years :confounded-face:

Check overflow/sump etc... I had to put filter floss behind myne as apparently the critter could pass through the wier slots... made if through there, over the baffle from chamber 1 to chamber 2.

Ran a secondary check as today was the day I needed a deep clean of all components of my tank and I went one stage further and removed all rocks checked all holes and rocks multiple time and placed back checked also in overflow
No sign of fish or bones or anything it’s like he never existed

My mind is officially blown !
