I saw a tentacle of flame tip floating around days ago. I collected it and put it in a samll box with a small piece of rock. Today is day 3. I checked it in this morning and touched it with a stick. It stills moves and alive. Is it so wried to anyone? :squigglemouth:
I have never heard of anything about annemones dropping off a tentacle as a form of splitting.

Wow i want a flame tip! how much for a tentacle?
Just kidding, this is interesting because ive never heard of a tentacle forming a new polyp, keep us posted!

Frank,
when i first got mine a year ago. it did the same thing! ( but i never saved it)but i was fine a week or so later..I actually sucked a few tips off when i was doing a water change with no ill effects..

I dont think it spliting! Think it might be stressed and tenicals are week IMO..

Not sure it will form a new Nem from one tentical...Ive herd of people cutting NEM's but you need part of the mouth for it to heal and become a new Nem...Im no expert, just sharing what ive herd

Hi Emoney. Thanks for your information. I complete agree with you. But since I alreay save it in a small box, we will see what happens in a few days. :)

Try and show the box and how you've tried saving the tentacle in your photos. I would appreciate learning from you about how your trying to propagate this.

wow this is going to be sick! get them photos coming. im super interested in finding out if it splits. maybe its learning from those **** colt corals that drop fingers and spread like wildfire

Sorry. I fotgot about that. Story short, it didn't survive. But I did a silly thing. I forgot to put a mesh cover over the cup, and it might ended up sucked into one of the powerheads or a drain. It did survive 4 days in my tank. So I can't really tell if it died, or I killed it. I will make sure to do a better job next time.
