Ok I know I'm starting this very late but just so your up to date, I cycled the tank using seed by aquavitro. On the 7th day I added 1 cleaner shrimp and a trochus snail (I wanted to get a few but was worried they would run out of food) both of them are doing well and the cleaner shrimp molted on day 5 of him of him being in there. My plans are to 1) upgrade the media basket to the InTank chamber 1 media basket 2) have the 2nd chamber be a refugium (I have a fluval prism 2.0 that I will upgrade to the cheatomax from Innovative Marine) and add a ato.

What ATO do you recommend?

Is dragon's breath easy to keep under stock lighting and will it compete with the cheato too much?

Dragon's breath will grow under stock lighting from my experience. If anything, you might as well use dragon's breath as your refugium macro because it doesn't break up and clog everything like chaeto. I've run into very annoying issues when chaeto starts clogging everything in the tank.
