My gorgonian closed its polyps for 2 days

PO4- .01ppm

It’s likely shedding - Gorgonians and many other softies shed every so often and it just helps them to remove any algae that’s grown on them.

Oh cool how long does this usually take? This is the first time it did it in like 10 months

It can take anywhere from 1-2 days to sometimes a few weeks. I’ve found Lobophytums are more often the ones that take a week or so to shed

A dying gorgonian will have its flesh recede off of the actually skeleton.

Hey you were right it was just shedding! It looks to be sort of recovered now thanks!
