I finished giving a little reef roid plus AB+ as I normally do and noticed that my hammer shrank so much that its skeleton can be seen, sorry if I don't explain myself well, between English and that I am new to the hobby, but here I leave a photo i

The tissue has most likely been retracting for some time but you just noticed. When retracted they should have tissue showing down the skeleton.

This head may be a goner. But if just wait and see. I have lost two heads on my hammer before and then the others really took off and I went from 4 heads to about 20. So losing one head does not mean it all will die.

Please check all your water parameters and let us know what you have along with tank size age and lighting and maybe we can figure out why this happened.

Below is a photo of a retracted hammer in my tank. You can see all the flesh around the skeleton.

Ya luce mucho mejor. Me alegro.

Right now just don't touch it, disturb, or bump it, stay away from it till you get all parameters in range, and find out about proper flow and lighting.

I see tissue recession versus dying and can be caused by too much water flow, High phosphates, use of tap water, low calcium and even too much light
