This doesn't belong in any sub-forum that I can see so it is going here.

How many of you run a QT? wether it be for fish, coral, inverts, all of the above?

I'm going to show mine. Brace yourself, it's not pretty. Well, I'm really going to show what's in it.
First, some background.
I don't keep it running all the time. I thought I was done adding livestock and I had it dormant for months. Then my fresh show was coming and I like to save my AWC water for the show so I'm not wasting it. I just have the output into a 20 gallon tank that doubles as my QT when needed. I don't heat the water as it fills for the show, only the night before the show it gets heated. Sorry, getting off track.

I lost my clown a few months ago. So now I'm going to need the QT to find another clown. So the 20 fills up with AWC water, unheated, until needed. That's stagnent, unheated, evaporating water, until needed.
I do keep a few live rock in there, in the cold, stagnent, evaporating water.
So I got line on a clown someone needed to get rid of. He wanted some coral for it. I got lots of coral if you have followed my build thread. All I do is start the pump, start the heater, start my powerhead and check the SG the night before pickup. 40 specific gravity! Time for correction with RODI. Perfect at 35.
Get the fish, dump it in the tank. She's a beauty!
After a few days I see she is really healthy. Into the tank!

That's not why we are here. Here is my reveal. This is my live rock that's sitting in stagnent, cold, evaporating basement water. PXL_20250405_231358201.MP.jpg PXL_20250405_231349513.jpg PXL_20250405_231435952.MP.jpg

Sponges and mini feather dusters.
Crazy right! Life finds a way.

Please show me some of your QT setups! Wether pretty or not.
Is really beneficial to have even it's to hold a fish for a few days.

I have a IM 14 gallon coral quarantine that I use. Since I have small tanks I don't add many fish. In my 14 gallon residents are a Neon Goby, Royal Gramma, Golden Banded Coral Shrimp and Variegated Urchin, all petco refugees.
When I purchase corals for my Pico they go in the 14 gallon for observation. I am looking for FW, Vermetid, Aiptasia and Hydroids.
The tank is just a holding tank basically. Definitely not aesthetically pleasing.
