Minus the about 6% for the ph shift and the variance from bottle to bottle and you get 10.7.

11.4 is the number I started with.

There is truly no exact number. That is why all of the directions tell you to dose and then test. To many variables.
with the numbers given it's exactly 11.4.
shifts and variables weren't part of the original question.

That why I don’t like calculators either lol. Some use it, some don’t. When dosing 500 gallons, 6% too much is a lot. Rather be 6% low and test and adjust up a bit if needed.

The thing is, neither one of us wrong.

Again, so many variables to factor in. Some alk supplements do not boost ph much, others do. Bottles may be stronger or weaker from one batch to the next. There may not be exactly 15 gallons in the container.

Better to start low when raising alk, then having to add more water or acid to bring it down.

That thing looks as bad as mine does, wherever it ran off to. I use excel and wrote formulas most the time now lol.

Exactly.

I could go change my 180 .3 alk right now in an instant and nothing would bat an eye at it.

Change it .8-1 and it might get a little irritated.

.3 to .5 is a safe zone.

I never did ask though.

@Thespammailaccount

Why are you keeping alk in the 10 range? Not that it is an issue, but usually if you keep alk at the salt mix you are using it makes consistency soo much easier. Especially if you do regular water changes.

Basically what I do for safety is to round the decimals down to 0 and not up. That ends up to be about 4-6% difference down.

Plus it makes the math easier and quicker.
you must have wrote the mechanical design detailing specs for GM. ;)

Got to keep the techs at the dealerships busy with warranty work or make sure that right out of warranty it breaks.

Kinda like bmw injection pumps and oil seals......
don't know about beemer's.
never seen one towing a duck boat so I have no interest.
