Junior, Let us know what kind of readings you get with the par meter.

THis thing looks so cool! Due to the bulb size the applications are endless, you could use 1 bulb over a 4 ft tank, and reflect the light in at an angle, this would give you a variable intensity across the tank, great for SPS near the bulb, and then Acan and Chalice type corals at the far end.

That retro fit unit Todd has right now would be perfect for my 60g cube, especially if I could dim it to a 14k or 20k spectrum.

I haven't paid anything for it. Its not mine to keep :(

Uses about 250 watts. Check out the glassbox write up, it has some good info.

Its not over a tank yet. I may briefly put it on a 36" x 60" prop tank.

what kind of PAR #'s are we going to expect to see out of this bulb and what would be the range? 20" 24" before the PAR significantly drops....?

We will measure the PAR with our cheap little PAR meter in 10 days when the tank is up. After we do this rudimentary testing we will take it to Sanjay for a detailed analysis.
