well i think of myself as manly as the next i grewup on a ranch(yep i did) and even rode bulls for nine years(1 year pro) but not to brag on myself or my lack of sense lol this is one of my other passions, ORCHIDS!!!!!!! all in full bloom hope you like.

those are beautiful... i could never keep one alive. =\
 
well i think the secret for me is daily misting with purified water and osmocote food just treatem like you would your corals but some are definatly harder then others.
 
A little hint they love the the fishroom might be a way to get the wife or girlfriend to let ya build one just tell here youll grow her orchids.lol

I've been raising orchids for over 10 years myself. I mostly do slipper orchids, and am an administrator over at slippertalk.com

I have one myself, as I just moved out (going to college) but when I was home I convinced my mom to buy a bunch ;) I don't do the whole pollinating and all of that stuff, but I can keep them alive :D Here are some pics from when I went to the orchid show at the MO Botanical Gardens a few months ago (managed to drag Chad along with me):

My other hobbies (I don't really count orchids as one of them, I just like them :)) include photography, animals, reading, science (veterinary medicine), and drawing/painting.
