Hey reefers,

So I've had this tank for a little under 1 year and boy has it been a trip. Everything started off amazing and I made some great progress but then encountered a few problems...

My first problem was GHA. A LOT of GHA. This was difficult to address as my Nitrate and Phos lvls have always been fine. So I eventually theorised it must have been my photo period. I cut this back from 8 hours to 4/6 hours and have never looked back. I also added Micro-Lift Phos-Out4, just incase...

My second big issue was Ich. The Ich itself wasnt even that severe...my mistake was taking some ill advice from my LFS. I bought a treatment and followed their dosing advice only to lose 3 fish and a torch coral as I poisoned my tank. The dosing was for 10ml weekly. I dosed daily on their advice.

I came really close to throwing in the towel and calling it a day. REALLY CLOSE! But, I stuck with it and I feel like I have now finally turned a corner and although my tank is all tiny (recovering - they have bounced back VERY well) frags, I'm super happy with where it is going!

This picture was taken after I had been in the tank doing some bits and bobs so the corals are a little closed up but I really loved the colours so chose this picture to post

Set up:

Fluval Evo 13.5g
Stock Light
Stock Return Pump
Chamber 1 - Filter floss and rock rubble
Chamber 2 - (I have removed the stock sponge) Filter floss, Carbon, Phos-Out4 and Fluval Biomax

Current stock:

2x Common Clown
1x Eviota Goby
1x Firefish Goby
1x Sand star
Various CUC

Unknown Torch Coral (this bounced back from poisoning)
Unknown Candy Cane (another poisoning survivor)
Unknown Sinularia
Unknown Favia
Unknown Hammer Coral (bounced back from bleaching due to poisoning)
Duncan Coral (bounced back also)
Dragon Soul Favia
Ultra Rainbow Ricordea
Neon Green Candy
Common Birdsnest
Fluorescent White Gonipora (although I think its Alveopora)

I have me a few upgrades planned including lighting and jump guard so I will post updates as and when. If anyone has Instagram I post there also @IntuMarine1G

My ultimate goal is to upgrade to a Red Sea Reefer and try to keep high end SPS. We can all dream. Haha.

Anyway thats about. Ill post updates as and when they happen. Cheers.

That looks very pretty, and great colour, very nice!

If your getting GHA check your phosphate levels as thats often the cause. A good target is around 0.03ppm so very low

So I added some cured rock from my LFS today. I seen the piece and thought it was nice, it was also covered in Coraline so was really purple it looked cool. When I added to my tank (I tried to create a bridge/swim through area) I didnt like the asthetic. I also discovered a figure 8 type worm so the rock has been removed. Forgot to snap a pic

Added a new coral (Stylo) today and a Nem (more on that later). A few other pics of how my other corals are getting on too :)
