I think you should still consider using it. If it were me, I would get 2 tubs of salt water going or available. One that you can scrub all the nasties off in with a tooth brush. The other to rinse it.The new tank will be here at 8 am and I already know my first challenge, and I can't believe I didn't think of this before. Initially, I wasn't worried about the new tank going through a cycle because I have two bags of siporax that I kept from the old tank that I added to the tub and planned on adding at least 1/2 of the water from the tub to the new tank. My problem is the algae in the tub. Everything has hair, cyno, possibly dinos, or a combo of all three. I've been so focused on getting the new tank here and set up. I don't want the old live rock to go to the new tank, which is why I bought the new CaribeSea Life rock. I tried to keep the algae under control, but it was impossible under the circumstances, so I just focused on keeping it off the coral. Any suggestions or maybe a miracle?
That's what I said lololol...hi,take 2 buckets of tub water 3/4 full ,use one to scrub and clean rock, 2nd as a swish rinse ??
i like the way you think...I think you should still consider using it. If it were me, I would get 2 tubs of salt water going or available. One that you can scrub all the nasties off in with a tooth brush. The other to rinse it.
Unfortunately with setting up the new tank I suspect there will be uglies while it balances back out. Just to much has happened to avoid it.
I know you have the skill and toughness to tackle it when it happens. You have shown great strength this whole time. Almost there @Dolelo96 just a little longer and you will be enjoying your tank again.
