Hey reefers,
Starting today I will write my own experiences and events that I got from my little 5-gal fish tank to the red sea reefer 170.

I started getting into the saltwater stuff about 1.5-year ago.

The tank looks amazing! My tank has been up for 4-5 years and still does not look as good as yours. Do you have any more close up photos?

Everything begins with my little childhood dream. I had a great freshwater fish tank that had a lot of shrimps (I like crystal shrimps). However, one day when I saw the coral banded shrimp I fell in love with it as how beautiful it is. It is one of my dream creatures that I had always wanted. Its beautiful claws and the blue-red-white color contrast really drew my attention.
So I finally decided to spend 14.99 and a used 5-gallon fish tank I got from a yardsale for free to set up my very first saltwater fish tank. By the way, I was really nervous about if I would have enough water to change and how to keep the salinity stable. The staff in the LFS told me I can always purchase water from them and the price is not too expensive- 50cents for saltwater and 25cents for ro water per gallon.
I bought a coral-banded shrimp and 2 emerald crabs as I am a crazy crustacean lover. Everything seemed to be one the right track, but the thing happened on the other day changed the whole thing, and it kinda opened my coral collecting world.
