hey everybody! im brand new to this and just introduced two new clown fish to my ten gallon. they both are eating well and seem to be healthy but for about three or four days now they haven't left the top corner of my tank near the filter outflow. there plenty of rock in the tank and a bit of macroalge im waiting to grow in. i will admit I was pretty quick with the acclimation (temp acclimation for a half hour then just dumped them in). is this behavior normal and if so how long before they start to explore the tank a bit?

Absolutely normal. My clowns were hosted by the return nozzle in the upper left corner for a year and a half before moving down into my duncan.

Yeah, that sounds like normal clownfish behavior. They chose odd spots to go to, haha

Same, my clowns rarely strayed from the top left corner of my tank.

This is why one reason I don't really care for clown fish anymore. The are quite boring, especially in a large tank. If I could get an anemone to host them, that would be different... I'd enjoy that.

Sounds like clownfish. They can be interesting with a nem hosting them but other than that I find them one of the most boring fish I've kept.

Mine were always obsessed with the thermometer that was in the top corner of my tank. It was both of theirs, and nothing was coming close to it.

word thanks everyone. they do seem like they're happy there so I guess ill just accept it

Give them time... Down the line you may realise 'That' you were the clown putting them in your box of water. Enjoy the experience my friend 👍
