Urchin rips my coraline rock clean white. Takes my tank about a week to get encrusted again but every tank is different. Getting be such a pain I moved him to sump. Never had a snail do that though

I've had urchins do it, but not snails.

Is it paint or coralline aglea? My algea encrusts back faster than anything I have can eat it off. Snails shouldn’t be eating it anyway. What kind of snail do you have?

if you just like the colors there’s a red variety of coralline (or some people tell me it’s a sponge) that grows super fast and that urchins or snails either one ive had won’t touch. You can see it and normal pink corallline in my photos.

coralline takes time and a stable tank, you can help it along by putting something that already has coralline algae growing on it (actual live rock, snails, frag plugs)

Ok so it’s LIFE rock not LIVE rock. Big difference. Life rock is a Carib sea product name and it’s not paint it’s more accurately described as a coating designed to mimic coralline.
The white spots will disappear very quickly. As stated, coralline takes time and certain conditions to thrive. It’ll happen.
please do not consider painting your rocks ;Facepalm
