My SPS Frankentank

Changed the return pump. Got a great deal on a jebao dcs 5000. $40. Has the feed option, slow ramp up, and adjustable rate vs the rio2100 turned on and off..

More pics just because.

Been doing some maintenance. Scraped the coraline off the front glass and cleaned the frag chamber in the sump.

So the dinos drove me to it. I have removed so much sand syphoning the dinos out. I had to replace it. I was able to see light through the bottom of the tank this morning. I doubt that my yellow coris would like the tank at all if I had kept going. So I syphoned out the dinos I could see on the sand, added new sand, and hooked up a UV sterilizer. I will clean the glass on the sides anothe day. Other than being cloudy everything is [emoji4].

Roughly an hour and the tank was clear with pristine white sand. Had to get a tank shot and a little video. I rinse the sand with the hose for a bit and then rinsed it 5 times with rodi. The video has my wife and daughter chatting in it but I like them too, so its ok!

Finally did the video. I had the window open so don't mind the cars going by.

I am bored at work for once!!!! I plan on testing water this evening. My alk consumption is climbing again. Sinve removing some nuisance algae from the sump my no3 went up a bit. I turned the doser off for two days now and I am curious where its at. The coral really loved the no3 though. Oh say hi to smudge, Russell, and Hammy! Our three pups.

Alk was at 6.7dkh, cal 425ppm, po4 .052ppm, no3 3ppm. I have almost doubled my alk. I wonder if the coral and coraline are using it or its the new sand is sucking it up?

So I am getting phyto and pods tomorrow. Hopefully its the last push to get the dinos out of the tank. They have only ever reached nusaince levels so I feel that I am close.

Pearlberry coming along!!!!
Asd morning glory,
this is supposed to be blue,
This one is starting to color up,
Blue enchinata

Oooooo!!!! I hope the brown polyps go away! This guy will be pretty. I didnt even know it looked like that. Its a real fuzzy millie not to sure what it was supposed to be but I noticed it when blowing off the rocks. No filter just a cheap $200 phone. I never feel like breaking out the canon for pics.

Plus a tank shot since I rearranged the rock slightly to give more room around the elegance.

Also nearly doubled my alk consumption in about a month!

As well as some algae clean up in the sump and a bit of fragging.

Lastly, I still haven't gotten my pods and phyto.

I never post blues. Not particularly a fan of all blue. And the elegance is so big. I will have to find a photo of when I got it.
