Looking fantastic man!! Love the scape progress too!
Thanks, it's getting there...
Just have to let the corals grow now!

I only did two treatment of melafix, there was no signs of the bugs after the second one.
The bonsaï really made a come back.

Some changes in the fish population lately, the two blue hippo coudln't stand each other so i trade one for a small scopas.
And i bought a anthias from a fellow reefer, the small thing took a beating.
edit: the anthias died the same week.
if i decide to add them again i will sell the clowns before, it was them who killed the little fish.

I added the rock shown earlier without proper cure (it was out of the water since 2018) and now i have 25 ppm of nitrates...
The video was taken last month.
ps, there's a surprise at 1:20!

Fun story...
Do you recall the simpsons episode when they have a lot of greyhound pups and Homer is desperate to get rid of them only to find out at the end that they bring a lot of money to their new owner?

btw it's the one with the "see my vest" song (season 6 episode 20, i did my research for this post)

Well... i have a coral you see, or i should say i had a coral since 2016 that was sold back then as a leptoseris but turn out to be a psammocora.
It's coloration was mainly orange with hints of green/gold/brown, really nice under blue light but barely visible (except the green) under day light.

So long story short, i sold it to a guy who know the owner of reef raft canada and it became a "named" piece.
He was fair enough to mention that i should keep a frag before the transaction and afterward told me about the rr thing.
No hard feelings, i had the price i wanted and i know i could not have created the same hype by myself.

It just put the whole naming thing in perspective...
And made me feel a little bit like Homer in this episode!

Amazing how things like that happen, I've been the source of a few of those things here in Aus but it always ends up nasty here so I've become a recluse with my corals these days. I only share with friends and people I like now haha

Australian reefers can be shockers. I've been threaten to have my tank shut down and destroyed because someone "knows a guy" in our fisheries dept, multiple copy-cats with not the right coral trying to make a quick buck off my name/s, insult throwing and people going out of their way to specifically undercut me when I was selling things too. Nowadays I stay pretty quite here in Aus and only really interact with people I know or get along with, it's just too much heartache for me to try and deal with people any more haha. Anything I have to sell, I "sell" to my lfs and he sells them and I have no part of interacting with people hahaha

It's not easy to live in a convict colony!
Your fellow reefers must have some past trauma deep in their genes to explain such a conduct!
They dont deserve your hard grown corals.
