Just a few dumb stocking ideas I'd assume none of them would work for many different reasons. But I should attest ask here's my list

Two Blue Legged Hermit Crabs.

One Peppermint Shrimp.

One Caribbean Porcelain Crab & six Saltwater Ghost Shrimp.

Would any of these actually work?
Also the idea I think should work and I intend to go with three Sexy Shrimp & three Micro Brittle Starfish.

I think any of those would work, as long as you have rock for them to hide in. I would lean away from the porcelain crab, unless you plan to feed plankton, since they are filter feeders.

Everything I've seen just tells me it wouldn't work and doesn't specify why

I have a porcelain crab in my display fuge and have seen it eating pellet food and algae wafers

Nice @TX_REEF! Porcelain crabs look so cool, if you think it can be fed easily I change my vote to that for stocking the 2.5
