My upgraded IM 100 (4 Weeks in)

So a month ago I upgraded tanks, 40 gallon to a 80 Gallon w/ 50 gallon sump. I used old water, live rock, media and then added all new sand, new macro rock aquascape.

All fish have been doing great, a Coral beauty, clowns, Sixline wrasse, yellow head goby and cleaner shrimp. I just added snails and some hermits for a clean up crew.

What Im seeing is some brown spots on the macro rock and a few areas on the glass, the sand is clean and white still.

All the corals I have which is softies for the most part are doing great, no issues. I did add a hammer and a kenya tree a few days ago... was free. But doing good.

My parameters are as follows...
PH 8.0 (Hanna)
ALK 7.5 (Hanna)
Nitrates HR 0.0 (Hanna)
Phosphates .06 (Hanna)
Ammonia 0 (API)
Salinity 1.024-1.025
Temp 78.5F

Done a 2 water changes since the startup of the upgrade.

Any opinions or pointers?

Looks awesome I love my IM 100 that has been running as a upgrade for over 2 years.. are you worried about the Xenia taking over?

I have them separated on there own islands... hoping that helps. But if they do start hoping around Ill just remove what I need to. But yeah, we love the tank... what are you doing for filtration? Socks? Floss? The balls that came with it are already getting dirty.

I have a trigger systems 34 platinum sump… it has a roller mat intergrated. And keeps the water pretty clear. Then I have a refugium with Cheato using the Tunze Fuge Light, a Nyos 160 Skimmer, a small media reactor with a little bit of GFO and Carbon running,.

You're still going to see diatoms in any new tank regardless of the transfer methods. All the glass and new equipment feeds diatoms silicate, once that's used up the diatoms typically disappear. Next comes the real ugliness, it's like death and taxes.

dang, I was under the belief by my LFS and a few others on the IM FB group that I shouldn't see a ugly stage/cycle. Since I moved all my live rock, bio media and water to a new tank... hopefully its just a mini dose of ugly. lol
