Changes, updates, etc. So I have been consistent on weekly waterchanges, I'm doing 9hr light cycles, and have done fairly well at maintaining parameters starting at 7.9-8.2 dkh, this has now lately been more along lines of 8.0-8.3dkh, Ca 420-430 an occasional 440 but nothing greater, and Mg...(sigh) maintaining 1320-1350 but it has been dropping to 1290 so I do add foundation C to keep that up. When I noticed this it was dropping even lower so it took a solid water change and upkeep to get this more less in check.
Constantly reading and trying to shed light on this problem, I personally think it is my rock but I just continue to read and look for anything I don't know.
I changed my lights to Dalua x4, do want to add some blades and maybe/maybe not an extra x4. I'm honestly thinking of scootching my lights where the end does not get much direct light by right my par is 230-90 top half depending on where it is (mind you my lights are not "blanketing" my tank with the only 2 x4's) and anywhere from 120-70 on the bottom depending on how close to the rocks or direct the corals are. Corals seem happy, the video posted i have actually moved my acans from the shelf to the sand a little closer to the mushroom to see if the flow is better for it, and as well I have moved the lower acan a little bit back and in. Both seem a bit happier. Have tiny specs of coraline poking through on the rock closest to the overflow where the sps are sitting, so hopes that takes off good and doesn't stall along the way.. about maybe a month-month and a half ago (so busy the days kind of jumble) I added arcreef coraline spores. I believe 16 bottles total, let theme settle for an hour (thats all I was personally willing to give my fish) and consistent water changes.
I keep the water at 78 degrees at the ledge so back wall coming out of the overflow it is usually about 78.6 degrees (but have been kind of finding a theme so the direction may adjust a tad bit and if so I may be ok with slightly cooler temps but time will tell.
Try for 1.026 SG, unfortunately right now fighting to get back up from 1.025 but I think we may be good after this next waterchange, just wanted to make sure not to mix to heavy, so if couple changes it takes to get back, so be it. (Just switched to aquaforest and it has been mixing beautifully so definitely not mad at it)
Ph stays pretty consistent at 8.1-8.2, battling nitrates but not outrageously, currently .03phosphate was 11.8nitrates, back down to 8.8... thats my biggest learning obstacle and that is 100percent my fault because i am yet to create a strict regiment for everyone but i need to.
