NAC6 issue?

So my pump on my NAC6 died this week. I contacted the distributor and just received my replacement pump. I seem to have to have the gate almost closed to get the water up to the neck. In 10 inches of water.. Does a pump need time to break in? And does the skimmer need to break in again? Skimmer was dry for a week while waiting for a pump.

Did you use a new impeller? I would make sure the Venturi is not clogged as well. You can drip vinegar or hot rodi in the line.
