I got called a master again the other day, it makes me very uncomfortable, I just do things how I think they should be done.
Running a mixed reef is very fulfilling for me, and apparently easy!
It is easy but takes a lot of planning and patience.
I guess it is an approach, aquaculture, mariculture, it is not a definable "system" it is creating a system that should have the ability to deal with nutrient import, feeding fish, they poop, nutrients are created, things absorb those nutrients.

I went though 18 months of pain getting this about right, over the years I figured out what I did wrong, I should have started it macro algae heavy, I am just a bloke doing things differently and trying to learn more! ;)

The one thing I would say is that higher nutrients seem, imo to makes tanks more adaptable, corals might not be super colo(U)rs but they will be healthy! ;)

I cannot only enjoy the view of your tank, great job. It doesn’t matter what people say, of the tank is happy like this then you are doing the right thing !

Thank you, I love it, after some reading the other day I have even bought some probiotic food, again from interesting reading, hopefully it will filter through the whole tank. :)
I have been exploring that as well. I would love to try probiotic salt. @Manose uses it.

Thank you, I lost 5 acros when the bulk head let go and fried most of my electrics, I have added 5 new acros, I will hopefully enjoy watching them grow.
I got a bit too fixated on acros, I need to get back to enjoying my mixed reef! :)

What are you really hoping to find, Simon? Perhaps you are hoping to be surprised by something. Oooo, I cannot wait!

Thanks, they use a wholesaler that my lfs use but they also import so often have interesting bits, we will see! ;)

I got two new corals at the refurbed lfs, great set up, they showed me the engine room! :)
The skimmer was taller than me! :p
Very healthy looking fish, I was very tempted by one particular fish! ;)
The acro was from my normal lfs on the way back home, all in for about 15 minutes when I took this. :)
