Never saw him on any rock. Pretty much just minds his own business and goes about his daily home remodeling. Can anyone tell me if it’s a danger to my reef tank.

I’d name him Frank but that’s just me

As to an actual id, hard to really tell in the pics but general consensus is black claws and/or hairy legs is bad.

That said, I can’t see the claws and don’t see hairy legs. As a precaution, I’d sump him(if available) I’m not a huge fan of crabs though

In seriousness, black claw tips are usually dangerous. Since we can't see the claws, difficult to tell. But, most crabs will eat anything they can grab.
 

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
